Tick Tocking money?

Can you really make money Tik tok? Most of the youngsters today are crazy about Tik tok mobile application. It is their urge to make quick money and gain the popularity is what is driving them towards this app. But the reality is quite different.  Tik tok does not pay you money when you upload the videos, nor do they pay you for the views. It is only when you gain popularity thru this app, you can avail the sponsorship thru outside of Tik tok.  Isn't it odd if that is the case, your drive to gain popularity is the factor that makes money there?  What does it take to gain popularity in Tik tok? Probability of it is 1 in 10000 to be honest. If you have good content, most likely comedy based or a social message that can drive people to look at it. Then do you think it is worth the effort of making these videos and posting it on tik tok? Well its for you to decide if you want to make it a full time career.  Happy tik toking. Btw I support the idea of banning such mobile ...

Spiritual Awakening - 4 stages as per Michael Bernard Beckwith

Thank you Michael Beckwith for your teachings and for Mindvalley for the masterclass with him. I happened to accidentally hit the youtube video of " The 4 stages of Spiritual Awakening " which actually gave me good insights. Let us learn what these 4 stages are: Stage 1 :     To Me (or) Victim Consciousness             As a human being we usually think that our life is controlled by some external force. Its obvious result would be that we play the victim card. We are victims of the force that designs our fate.       So you believe Life is happening 'To me' in this stage.     Stage 2 :     By Me (or) Manifester Consciousness            It is in this stage when we have learnt and applied the Universal laws (like Law of attraction or using some visualization technique). We start with the manifestations in this stage using the laws to a...

Great Reset needed

An article in Medium on ' Daredevil Startups Are Finally Exposed for What they are ' talks about how the business models of Uber, Airbnb and ClassPass are flimsy and are unsustainable.  Agreed that the COVID-19 lock down has led to a loss to some of the marketplaces and this trend is supposed to continue with no cure in sight for COVID yet.  However, in my view this short term disruption in businesses will have a major impact on the ecosystem. Definitely you can expect emerging startups to shutdown. But on the longer run, the major players will survive due to their cash reserves.             As of today, any business model is built on profit making, unless you are an NGO. But the companies built only to make money as the primary goal are sure to die. Future is meant for eco friendly companies who partner and maintain the balance not only in their own community but also in the environment. Susten...

Misleading advertisements in newspaper!

Image
Today's TOI has the below advertisement of 'The Economic Times' (ET as short name) and how well the ET is far from the combined other financial papers. They claim that the ET readership is about 77% higher than the combined readership of 'Mint + Business Standards(BS) + Hindu Business Line(HBL)'.     First let us understand the difference between readership vs circulation in newspaper. A newspaper's circulation is simply the number of newspapers that are in circulation on an every day basis. While the newspaper readership is the number of people who read it. Readership is typically 2.5 times the circulation as on an average 2.5 people read the same newspaper.  For instance if 1 lakh newspapers are circulated in a day then the readership is typically 2.5 lakhs.   Courtesy - TOI        Now coming back to the advertisement above, ET claims that they have 1,109 readers daily while Mint+BS+HBL combined readers are around 626. Ok, t...

Shiva - the absolute reality

Image
We all know Shiva as the lord of destruction. But our knowledge seems limited in this aspect.  In Hinduism, every God and Goddess are understood in 4 standpoints at the least  as explained by Swami Tejomayananda, Chinmaya Mission in his article .   (i)   The Absolute  - This is the highest standpoint of view and Lord Shiva is known as the pure consciousness in this view. He is the ultimate reality or the absolute truth. (ii)  The Cosmic - Here the Lord Shiva is the lord of the universe who is the creator, protector and destroyer. (iii)    The Departmental - This is where most of our knowledge resides and Lord Shiva is the 'Destroyer'. (iv)    The Incarnated - Gods are incarnated as the Avatars in this world to protect the Dharma and Lord Shiva has taken two forms - as Sri Adi Shankaracharya and as Dakshinamurthy Bhagwan.         Nevertheless, when our knowledge increases and when w...
