Theory of Happiness!

Image
Courtesy - Internet      The story goes back to 1922 when Albert Einstein went to Japan as per his plan to give a lecture instead of receiving the Nobel prize in physics. For many this may look odd. Who in the right minds would not go to receive a Nobel prize? Isn't it?  Well that is Einstein for you.       In the hotel Imperial at Tokyo where he stayed for his lecture, the crowd did not leave him alone.  In this midst of chaos, a courier guy came to Einstein for delivery. As a gratitude Einstein wrote him a thankful note which is now known as theory of happiness.  "A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness"  ~ Albert Einstein No wonder he is a genius and not all us can do what he has given us. But his simple words on happiness has given the mankind everything he needs. In-spite of this we are after the rat race. Isn't our quest for domination in thi...

Music - a life soother!

My favourite past time is to watch TV with family especially if there is a show like Big Boss which makes you laugh, cry and share the emotions. Isn't that what life has to offer us? Well I am here to make the most of it. After all we only live for an average of 60-70 years. To me this is a small existence when you look at the whole universe and its life span. I would gauge my tiny bit of living  in this whole Universe by the contribution I made to make someone's life better.        It is quiet often that we loose track of what is needed of ourselves, wouldn't you agree? How really you get the track back is left to you? I find at times pleasant tunes help me.         A simple life can be enriched when you add music to it. Its the spice to this life which just clears the cluttered mind. Music to me is the contribution of those clean hearted ones. A tribute to all the music lovers.         ...

Compassion at the core!

Emotionally speaking it is good to help people. Believe me the needy people are the ones that need your support. But unfortunately not everyone appreciates your help. It is those disgusting folks who does not appreciate your help are the ones that I feel pity on. Grow up man. Have some decency in life.          Courtesy is a gentleman's game. But if your kindness and soft hearted nature is being taken advantage for then believe me you need to show who you really are. At times it is not compassion that is needed but assertiveness to handle such folks.            You know the famous saying from Dalai Lama  "Compassion and Tolerance is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength". Would having more of it, cost you?

I choose to be 'Me'

Aren't we all filled with great expectations from our environment? Be it from our family, friends, company or your circle.  Do you want to live up to the expectations of them or be yourself irrespective of what others think of you?  There is nothing wrong with others expecting something from you, isn't it? The real question would be 'if you want to match theirs or yours?' Haha...it is your life after all, correct?        In the midst of this expectation chaos, we need to find our self and maintain our true identity. Is that difficult? I don't think so. Well, not to me at least. I owe this to the latest vipassana meditation technique that I learnt recently. It is because of this, I choose to be 'Me'. What better than being yourself?        Living up to the expectations, keeping up the perceptions are all great. But the one thing that really no one can take away from you is your true identity. Let us all be ou...

Being Ordinary

The world is getting competitive every day, wouldn't you agree?  Most of the people are running the rat race to achieve their professional or personal goals. I am sure, like me, you too are. If you are not then there is definitely some problem with you. That is the perception of this world. For now, let us leave the perception to itself and talk about the reality for a change.        Are we after all only defined by the degrees we hold, the knowledge we possess or the position/roles we play in our professional world? Is there anything more in this world than just living for goal satisfaction? Have you felt there is a greater cause than this?  Would you have preferred a higher purpose to life?       I am a ordinary person, probably no better than anyone of you who is reading this. Being ordinary is just fine in today's world but I believe in a higher purpose. Nothing wrong have a goal that is just higher than your...
