What are you here for?

I suppose you have heard of 'Ikigai', which is where your life's purpose meets what you love and do. It is a Japanese technique that helps build a happier lifestyle. But when you ask Isha foundation Sadguru about how to figure your life's purpose. He just laughs and says "we are just a tiny spec in the entire universe and why do you think God has created a purpose for you?" If not, then why are we here for? Just to smile and be happy. We don't have control over our birth and neither do we control our death. Then why the hiccups, struggles, sorrows in between? Its just our creation, as we don't know how to live.
Sounds fascinating when our land had such great spiritual leaders like Buddha and yet we are striving to just survive instead of live. As Buddha says, it is our thoughts that are putting us into the troubles. The irony is we all know the truth, yet struggling to walk the path. If we can control our destiny, what are we waiting for?
As the quote from John Shedd says, if you want to go after something try to at least raise the bar. You can't sit at the harbor. Thou it is contradicting what Buddha has to say. Buddhism always believed that you can achieve nirvana thou mere sitting as well. No need to do anything. Action leads to rebirth which would mean you struggle for some more years, just existing (not living). Why not try inaction?
After all we all have choices, whether you want to find peace in inaction or go after some higher purpose and succeed. It is 'YOU' who decides what you want. If it is meant to happen, it will. Why run for it?
Om Mani Padme Hum! Let peace be to all!
