Wazir - the loser wins here!

If you have not yet watched the bollywood movie Wazir  (2016), do watch it. Wazir in chess means queen, the most powerful pawn on the board. Do you think so? Isn't every pawn powerful as long as it is in the most appropriate position? A small ant can destroy an elephant, if it can get into its ears. Its all in the move, isn't it? Make yours for sure. Win or lose is secondary.       The game is meant to be played. Only a coward takes a cunning route to win. After all the Mahabharata would not have happened if not for Shakuni. Well the lord of the lords (Krishna) also wanted the play to go on, isn't it? Are you a Arjuna, Krishna, Duryodana or Shakuni? The character you choose is left to you. But do play for sure. After all isn't that what Krishna has preached too.       What do you think is the essence of any game? Is it the intention behind the game, the will to play it or the intensity with which you play?  As Buddha ...

Man's creative destruction

Oh God, please save us. Are we on the verge of evolution or destruction? On the technology front, we are assuming that making robots to take up mundane regular tasks is creative or progressive in nature. What if it turned out to be the worst ever invention of human history? Add AI to these bots and they can even think like Humans, at least that is the assumption as of now. Imagine a future where the bots with their intelligence ruling the humans who invented them. Isn't it scary?        Let us take a step back and see where did we go wrong. Today morning I had breakfast with couple of my classmates @ IIM Bangalore course. While having coffee I found that the disposable paper cups used for the coffee had a thin layer of wax and a plastic layer inside the cups making them carcinogenic. Introspecting it further, our own creation to make our lives easier has been the cause for our various diseases or rather destruction. So are we really ...

Dorito Nachos made for Women!

Image
Interesting enough, Pepsi did a survey and found out that Women don't enjoy chips/nachos when it makes sound as well as when the fingers get dirty with cheese. What does Dorito do? They come up with their own version of nachos for females. Do you consider this a well customized product? A niche market yet to be conquered? Or bringing in the differentiation to increase your customer base? To me the answer is 'yes' to all the above.       Photo Courtesy - Internet Photo Courtesy - Internet        It is probably the first of its kind that I see a gender based niche market created in the food products group. We have already seen the hair-oil, beauty creams, shaving razors being craved out and made a separate product for each gender but I have not yet seen one for a food product. Isn't it an interesting move from Doritos?  We need to see how well the consumers receive this new idea and encourage it.   ...

The obstacle is the path!

Image
Courtesy - Internet        I don't have the words to say...as the photo conveys everything. It is a zen proverb.  Knowing it is one thing, acting on (or rather walkingon it) it is another. What if the hurdles are meant for you to become strong? Is there a way to bypass it (or fly over it)? Or is it meant for you to overcome your fear? You know the answer to these.         I only wish that God gives us the strength to walk on the path destined. All the best!

The Four walls!

Ever wondered what it takes to be confined to the four walls of your room for almost 80% of the day and rather night. If you are thinking am referring to it from a negative context, you are wrong. It is a bliss, provided you like yourself.        It is definitely not like you have a partner to sing "kamare me bande hei aur chaabi koo gaye" (bollywood song), my reference has always been to stay alone. To me having a internet connection with my laptop on hand can do wonders. I sometimes feel I can conquer this whole universe. Well that's a bit of too much of imagination you can say.        The whole world is at your finger tips when you have net connection. They say world is well connected, to me it is just a click away. All thanks to google which make it more easier. The ever-lasting music, the social media connections, the short themed stories, plays, memes along with interesting articles, vblogs just make life so great. ...

Polite and softness - a mistaken identity.

Quite often we see people being polite in asking others. 'Can you please hand over that paper to me?' Adding a please in your request would may hell lot of difference along with the tone you use to convey the same. Isn't it more apt to use it when required? Most of us in India at least perceive this politeness as rather softness.  To me that is clearly a mistaken identity between the two identical twins. You need not be soft by character to be polite.  It is just a more formal way to be polite. So why this wrong perception? Is it due to our brought up? Is it due to the way you think the world should be? Or rather is it just being odd man out?      In a country where diversity and tolerance are its pillars on which it is based on, we are so unfortunate that we see things in our own perspective rather than have a open mind. Obviously not everyone is intolerant and closed. But why is it that I see it more often these days.      Let u...

Theory of Happiness!

Image
Courtesy - Internet      The story goes back to 1922 when Albert Einstein went to Japan as per his plan to give a lecture instead of receiving the Nobel prize in physics. For many this may look odd. Who in the right minds would not go to receive a Nobel prize? Isn't it?  Well that is Einstein for you.       In the hotel Imperial at Tokyo where he stayed for his lecture, the crowd did not leave him alone.  In this midst of chaos, a courier guy came to Einstein for delivery. As a gratitude Einstein wrote him a thankful note which is now known as theory of happiness.  "A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness"  ~ Albert Einstein No wonder he is a genius and not all us can do what he has given us. But his simple words on happiness has given the mankind everything he needs. In-spite of this we are after the rat race. Isn't our quest for domination in thi...
