Essence of a newspaper!
Every morning starts when the newspaper boy throws the morning news on your doorstep. With a coffee in one hand and the pleasure of reading the paper on the other hand is just the best way to start the day.
As a kid I always loved the sports page, with cricket and then tennis. Reading about Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras was just as thrilling as the Sachin Tendulkar making a century. Growing up I happen to get fascinated with the science articles that used to be published in these papers. But later on found that some of these articles are still in research, something like a hypothesis which is yet to be proved. Hmmm that makes me think again why publish such articles at all.
There are a few rumours that Indian newspapers are biased towards the few parties which makes me think are these news true. Anyway I never bothered much about the political news. Hardly mattered to me till few years back. Why this whole drama of publishing, when the newspapers do not worry about the truth?
Rest aside today's newspaper has become more of an advertiser's paper with most likely seeing an ad on the front page or the back. Obviously money drives business and I never thought it is so important that you forget the truth. Yeah call me old type, who values the truth now a days. After all, its all about the money, honey! Isn't it?
Well now that the truth is out - at least from my perspective news papers are not doing their job. One think I would hope to read without any political interference is the business column. I just love the 'Swaminomics' that comes every Sunday in Times of India. It surely has been interesting topics that he covers, attracting me towards economics. A subject that I have been lately fascinated about is economics.
Maybe the day is not far when we start reading the truth about these papers in another media. No am not talking about TV when I meant another media. TV news is no less corrupt from what I keep hearing. My imagination goes wild when I say the another media yet to be invented, may be a holographic display of a news reader whom you subscribe to.
Inventions do fascinate me...let science dominate the world for few more years and bring in more truth. Isn't that the need of the hour is?
Wishing the truth all the best...as it needs more right now to struggle out of this political mess.
Is there a news revolution around the corner? If so would like to see more of it.
Time discovers truth eventually. Let the time come soon.
