Living (he)artfully
I thank God for giving humans a break. I know many agree with me as this lock down phase or the Covid-19 effect is showing us what we as humans need to introspect. I can hear the sound of the birds chirping at my house, even heard that the Yamuna river is now 50% less populated. Look at the Bangalore air, we have 60% less pollution. Can't we as Human Beings, being part of this Universe, give back this much to the mother Nature? The least we can do is stay home for at least a month or a couple of it, to save it.
Mother Nature knows how to balance the karma as per the laws. It is indeed shameful that we were forced to obey. We being the most intelligent species on the planet should have learnt how to survive without spoiling it. But unfortunately our egos did not let it be so. Instead we were humbled forcefully by Her. I just hope at least we learn now.
Macro economically, a country's progress need not have to be based only on economical factors. As noted economist Amartya Sen's report in 2009 on alternatives to GDP conveyed, we have to look for 'well-being' or 'happiness' factor to judge the progress of a country. Needless to say GNH (or 'Gross National Happiness') index should be the priority. On a micro level, it would drill down to the company metrics looking for employee overall being rather than just profits. A perfect example would be Bhutan and how its taken up GNH as their national index for measurement.
Don't you think our ancestors fared better than us in ensuring our ecosystem was in tact? Even some of the aboriginal tribes today are better than us. They can teach us how to survive and prosper by being in the nature.
Let me end this on a note that if Human Beings are to survive for at least another 200 or 400 years, we need to learn to be happy rather than greedy. Hope the message is clear from the Universe.
Namaste! Let the right knowledge and peace prevail.

Heard the animals and birds are reclaiming their space in the nature. Great way! Go nature go!
