Great Reset needed

             An article in Medium on 'Daredevil Startups Are Finally Exposed for What they are' talks about how the business models of Uber, Airbnb and ClassPass are flimsy and are unsustainable.  Agreed that the COVID-19 lock down has led to a loss to some of the marketplaces and this trend is supposed to continue with no cure in sight for COVID yet.  However, in my view this short term disruption in businesses will have a major impact on the ecosystem. Definitely you can expect emerging startups to shutdown. But on the longer run, the major players will survive due to their cash reserves. 

           As of today, any business model is built on profit making, unless you are an NGO. But the companies built only to make money as the primary goal are sure to die. Future is meant for eco friendly companies who partner and maintain the balance not only in their own community but also in the environment. Sustenance plays a bigger role in the business models of tomorrow rather than profits. I am pretty sure, we can expect the Governments to give some tax relief for their environmental contributions?  Hmm, the competition among the companies may shift towards getting more eco tax relief from Governments, whats say?  Thou most of the companies today are already talking about sustainability and how their products or services are environment friendly, its only a countable few. Its obvious that we don't need predators in our ecosystem that are monopolistic in nature. We need collaborators who have a greener vision. 

       On a individual level, World Economic Forum(WEF) has rightly pointed out that our fragilities are exposed by the recent lock down scenario and our system needs a reset. It has launched a new initiative 'The Great Reset' with hopes to maintain the dignity of the human beings and help us with a greener and sustainable future. It is indeed needed for our next generations to survive. 

              Hope the WEF's new initiative will help the world become a better place.
