99% giving...nah!

Hmmm...you heard it right! It is 99% giving. What makes you think I left the 1%? Do you think I missed the 1% on purpose? Is it the same logic of marketer's funda of selling a product at 99.9 rupees instead of the round figure 100 rupees? Nah...you may be able to fool the consumers using your marketing logic of not using 0 as suffix or rather the number of digits you use, but in the world of giving - no, you cannot. Give it 100% always.
Why do you need to give it 100%? You might say my intent is good (almost 99%) and I have a doubt whether I get back my returns of what I gave (1%). You lost the move! Never think of returns when you give, that is the true good intent. That is why give 100%.
I don't like marketing for just one reason. You need to lie and be unethical about how you sell. Oh, may be that is two reasons. Selling is about building the perception of an orange in mind of consumer when you are just selling a lemon. Didn't you find difference in size?
Recently I went to a pharmacy shop near my house for buying antacid for my gastric troubles and asked them for the new Digene fizz sachets. To my surprise the pharmacist who used to sell these Digene Fizz sachets said no, he does not have it. Instead he tried to sell me Eno sachets which is an alternate to it. Believe me I have tried and tested both (Digene and Eno). Definitely Digene works better for my acidity. I started thinking what made the pharmacist switch to Eno from Digene. Could it be the marketing agent who gave more commission to buy his product? If so then the marketing team of one product won the battle, but at what cost? Consumers are paying the price for it. If I would have been given a choice between the two products, I would have chosen Digene over Eno any day. Unethical from sellers point of view to let only one product dominate, wouldn't you agree?
Unethical is that 1% am talking about while giving. Obviously business is not meant to strive on ethical practices alone as making profit stands priority. On a long run, do you think this will sustain? Hmmm...something to think over. After all making money is just one of your goal from business point of view right? Bottom line is to add value to the end consumer, isn't?
It again comes back to the intent or purpose of your work....are you in business for just making money or adding value to your customer or rather both? Think over it which one will survive the marathon.
'Give', give it 100% without expectation...there lies the secret. Am sure the nature will return the favour.
